Several powerful trip-planning tools are available that outdoor enthusiasts of all experience levels can use to step up their game. This three-hour course will give you the skills to create detailed itineraries for any excursion and provide folks at home with a clear plan in case you go missing. We cover:
Various platforms, including CalTopo, GAIA GPS, Google Earth, Google Docs, and NOAA Interactive Maps
CalTopo’s extensive map creation interface.
Determining information remotely, including bearings, slope angle, snow depth and more.
Exporting, importing, printing and sharing maps.
Organizing data into document for your trip.
This class takes places indoors and requires clients to bring a smartphone. Laptops are available for rent, but you are encouraged to bring your own.
This class is hosted in Holland, Michigan.
Available for ages 14+. $80 per person.
Group size limit: 5.
